These were purchased to add a little protection and also to utilise a paddock stand for maintenance on the Kawasaki Z900 model. The part was pretty easy to find with using the R&G website. Webike price was really good and with a few other parts in my order, all was shipped and delivered by EMS in 5 days. All was packaged really well and no damage. These are super nice spools for the bike, they are fairly chunky but this means you will not have an issue with slippage like you get with some of the small spools. I have had previous experience with these in the even tof a crash, they relly do protect the spindle to the rear wheel. They are made from a plastic mix but I am unsure of exactly what. The spools themselves look great when fited and the R&G logo printed on the sides is a nice touch. Really clean and machined good. You even get a set of new bolts that are stainless steel I believe. Are they cotton reels or spindle sliders? Well they are both really!! The Cotton Reel protects the swingarm and swingarm core components in the event of a crash or drop，but also double up as paddock stand bobbins. Allowing the motorcycles rear wheel to be lifted into the air via a paddock stand to performance chain adjustment，tyre changes and cleaning! This particular pair of R&G Cotton Reels are compatible with the Kawasaki Z900 17.
